Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizen.
  • Resident of the City of Ekurhuleni.
  • Grade 12 and above.
  • Ward number should be included when applying.
  • Ability to oversee community safety initiatives and lead a team of Community Safety Marshalls.
  • Previous experience in Community Safety Data Collection advantageous.
  • Commitment to community service and public safety.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Urban Safety Programmes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Community Safety.
  • Mental and physical ability to conduct daily transect walks.
  • No criminal record or pending cases.

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in community safety meetings and forums to advocate for community needs and priorities.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for project management; highlighting achievements, challenges and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, local organizations and stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate the deployment of Marshalls in designated Wards ensuring optimal coverage and response.
