The Local Government Regulation, (Regulation 21, issued on 14 January 2017), requires that the selection panel of the senior managers for various posts in the municipality consist of among others, an external technical expert who is not employed by the municipality.

In line with the above, the City of Ekurhuleni invites experts in the various fields to serve on a panel of technical expert providers, whose services will be utilised on an as-and-when required basis, on the various panels or provide advisory expertise when needed, in the following areas:

  1. Social Cluster (Reference Number: XMAN17006)
    1. NQF level 7 qualification in the Health, Social and Community Services fields
    2. 8-10 years’ relevant experience of which at least 3 years must have been at management level.
    3. Consulting experience will be an added advantage

Responsibilities:

The panel members will be expected to provide the following services:

  • Form part of the interview panels as and when relevant positions are filled.
  • Provide expert advice to the panel regarding the suitability of interviewed candidates.
  • Provide ad-hoc consulting services as and when required in the relevant field.

Professional Registration with the relevant Professional Body (where applicable) is required.

Experience in the public sector, particularly in the local government sector will be an added advantage.

The panel members will be remunerated in accordance with the Treasury regulated rates for consultants.
