Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Administration (Public Admin or Business Management) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
  • Strategic leadership capability.
  • Strong conflict management, planning & organizing and customer relations management skills.
  • MFMA in terms of National Treasury requirements will serve as an advantage.
  • 8 years’ relevant management experience, of which 4 years must have been at Senior Management level.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, develop, plan and drive an overall support services, governance and compliance strategy of the department.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, advise on governance and compliance regulatory frameworks, ensuring effective delivery of support, governance and compliance.
  • Perform operational processes to implement good governance, and apply risk knowledge and skills within the parameters of prescribed regulatory and best practice framework for good governance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, processes and resolutions to minimize risk.
  • Implement operational financial management strategy to ensure compliance with financial controls as contemplated in the Municipal Finance Management Act
  • Develop and deliver on service level agreements in alignment with the Batho Pele principles, monitor feedback and ensure continued customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize people management by setting performance standards in order to enhance productivity, capacity and high staff morale.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
