Minimum Requirements:

  • B Degree/ Bsc in Civil Engineering
  • Professional registration (Grad. Eng)/ eligible to register with ECSA
  • Applicable driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy
  • 3 years’ experience in contract management in similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of operational targets and objectives in the context of approved policy, processes, governance and delivery systems
  • Plan, monitor and resolve operations and maintenance related issues and service delivery concerns in area of accountability
  • Develop and maintain preventative operations and maintenance programs, ensuring effective implementation and adherence to guidelines
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual budgets and financial reports in accordance with statutory and Council presentation requirements
  • Coordinate, prioritise, direct, control and enhance resources to produce results and meet operational objectives and goals
  • Ensure that all applicable Acts, manuals, policies, regulations, norms, standards, requirements, etc. are available, kept up to date and adhered to
  • Conduct proper control, planning and management of assets, including monitoring thereof and analyse applicable systems
  • Ensure that there is constant water flow and pressure in the network as well as on the wastewater network and be responsible to assist to curb sewer ingress, water losses and unaccounted water
