Minimum Requirements:

  • A Degree in Auditing or Accounting or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • 5 years' experience in operations audit of which at least 3 years must have been at senior management level years of supervising and/or managing audit projects (i.e. conducting audits independently from start to finish)
  • CIA, RGA, CA (SA) will be an added advantage

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure optimization of the auditing delivery value chain, through strategic operational planning and alignment of functional frameworks and service delivery
  • Develop, annual audit plan, three year rolling plan
  • Implement and drive an auditing strategy in response to the Departmental strategy to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting designed to add value and improve the Municipality's operations
  • Facilitate, establish and review auditing practices, policies and procedures to ensure effective identification of need, requirements, measurements, reporting and communication
  • Lead the audit work ensuring that established deadlines and budgeted hours on each project are met to ensure that the set project objectives are accomplished and that the audit work is in compliance with the Internal Standards of Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • Identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability to ensure that the audits are executed efficiently within the prescribed time allocated
  • Prevent and reduce wastage on financial resources and escalate associated risk to ensure that financial administration delivery processes comply with internal control and report on any deviations
  • Provide an exceptional customer service to ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles
