Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant accredited Business Degree
  • 3 - 5 years' experience at management level in a similar environment within local government
  • Municipal Finance Management Programme NQF Level 5 would be an added advantage
  • Operational Planning and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of information management skills
  • Service delivery innovation

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategic capability and leadership to manage a functional unit within a division that is accountable for the delivery of set objectives within specified time frames and costs
  • Manage and implement operational processes to demonstrate and drive the application of policy, laws, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices to plan, make recommendations and apply changes appropriate to improving services delivery and monitor its effectiveness
  • Maintain governance and minimize risk to ensure that no incidents on non-compliance result and risks are appropriately mitigated
  • Manage and implement financial processes to ensure the effective use of finances and curtail costs in the Department
  • Practice a customer service orientation to ensure effective operations management and service delivery within the division, ensuring compliance with the Batho Pele principles
  • Practice people management to lead and manage teams within the context of defined processes, meeting performance parameters and clarify roles to achieve operational goals
  • Facilitate and coordinate internal and external stakeholder management programmes
  • Implement an aligned excellence culture, which builds enduring, rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
