Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Environmental Management/Horticulture/Public/Business Administration/ Management
  • Valid driver's licence
  • 3 to 5 years' relevant experience

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and standardize policies, SOPs and by-law Interpretation documents for technical operations, aligning activities with environmental, legal and community needs
  • Inspect contractor performance, manage cemetery and park bookings, oversee Real Estate repair escalations, and ensuring on site delivery matches plans
  • Conduct routine and ad hoc inspections to verify service standards across parks, cemeteries and open spaces
  • Maintain inspection reports and photo evidence for audit and contractor performance records
  • Act as a primary liaison with Real Estate for Infrastructure repairs and development requests
  • Maintain a Divisional risk register tracking environmental and OHS compliance, ensuring escalation protocols, and manage emergency readiness
  • Provide cost inputs to Snr Specialist: Finance (eg infrastucture needs, repairs and equipment usage). Track work completed before authorizing contractor invoices
  • Compile cost estimates and technical budget inputs for equipment, infrastructure, and repair works
  • Manage the Technical Division's role in responding to community service delivery concerns, including cemetery and park complaints submitted through IMS system
  • Guide, mentor and support technical field staff and depot managers. Co-ordinate training and HR related support and foster a learning, accountable work environment.
