Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/NQF Level 4
  • Valid Driver's License with PrDP
  • SAESI Higher Diploma in Fire Technology or IFE Level 4 Certificate or Completed National Diploma in Fire technology or any Equivalent Service-Related Qualification.
  • Intermediate Life Support Course with HPCSA Registration
  • Peace Officer Course or Equivalent /Similar Course
  • SHE Management Course or Equivalent /Similar Qualification
  • SAMTRAC or Equivalent
  • Computer literate
  • 8 Years Experience of which 2 Years Experience as Station Commander or Equivalent.

OR

  • Grade 12/NQF Level 4
  • Valid Driver's License with PrDP
  • B-Tech in Fire Technology or any Equivalent Service-Related Qualification.
  • Basic Life Support Course with HPCSA Registration or Level 3 in First Aid
  • Peace Officer Course or Equivalent /Similar Course
  • SHE Management Course or Equivalent /Similar Qualification
  • SAMTRAC or Equivalent
  • Computer literate
  • 8 Years Experience of which 2 Years Experience as Station Commander or Equivalent.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Render within the boundaries of the CoE a fire safety engineering service to minimise losses.
  • Maintain effective administrative systems and process for the Fire Safety Engineering sub-section
  • Responsible for the management, direction and performance of the Fire Safety Engineering sub-section.
  • Participate in forums and provide inputs to drafts legislations, National Standards and By-Laws
  • Manage and implement risk management, governance and compliance policy and processes.
  • Manage and enforce effective financial control, corporate governance and financial compliance throughout the area of responsibility
  • Ensure customer service orientation and undertake people management.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
