Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning; Geography / GIS; Economics, Data Science; Statistics; Computer Science; Development Planning; Science; Research Methodology or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
3 - 5 years of experience in research, analysis, or strategic planning roles, preferably in a Municipality or Urban Planning context
Strong understanding of urban issues, policy analysis and data interpretation
Proficiency in statistical analysis software and tools (e.g. GIS or Excel)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner
Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct research and analytical initiatives to provide evidence-based insights that inform policy development, organisational performance and executive decision-making
Contribute to the development of a data-driven planning and intelligence capability through the integration of research, analytics and business intelligence practices
Collect, analyse and interpret socio-economic, demographic, spatial and service delivery data to generate strategic insights
Leverage GIS and spatial intelligence tools to identify trends, development patterns and service delivery challenges across the City
Develop and maintain data models, dashboards and intelligence products that support evidence-based planning and performance monitoring
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the City's research, intelligence and data-driven planning capabilities
Provide feedback on governance, risk and compliance practices & escalate unresolved issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution
Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual budgets and financial reports in accordance with statutory and Council presentation requirements
Enable a culture, which builds rewarding relationships, facilitate service feedback, and allows others to provide exceptional customer service

I confirm that all information, including Personal
Information, supplied to the CoE is accurate and
current and agree to correct and update such
information when necessary.
By submitting any Personal Information to the CoE in
any form I acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an
indefinite unconditional, specific and voluntary
consent to the processing of such Personal Information
in the following manner by the CoE and/or third
parties:
Personal Information may be shared by the CoE
with
Verification Information Suppliers for
verification or
other legitimate purposes;
Personal Information may be stored indefinitely
by
the CoE and/or the Verification Information
Suppliers.
I note that if the CoE has utilised the Personal
Information contrary to the Privacy and Data Protection
Conditions, I shall first resolve any concerns with the
CoE. If I am not satisfied with such process, I have
the right to lodge a complaint with the Information
Regulator.
I acknowledge that I may withdraw any consent provided
in terms of this Agreement and if so Personal
Information will only be processed if permitted under
the Privacy and Data Protection Conditions.
A copy of Personal Information kept by the CoE will be
furnished to me upon request in terms of the provisions
of POPI Act.
I unconditionally agree to indemnify the CoE and/or the
Verification Information Suppliers against any
liability that may result from the processing of
Personal Information. This includes unintentional
disclosures of such Personal Information to - or access
by unauthorized persons, and/or any reliance which may
inadvertently be placed on inaccurate Personal
Information provided to the CoE by myself and/or any
third parties.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand this
agreement and accept the conditions therein.
