Minimum Requirements:
LLB / BCom Law
Drivers licence
4 years working experience in compliance environment
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement internal processes to manage the roads and transport departmental legislative compliance
Identify relevant legislation, regulations and by-laws applicable to the department and ensure clear framework for compliance
Maintain a legislative register and update it with new or amended laws
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and enforce corrective measures
Draft and analyse service level agreements and contracts to ensure comprehensive legal support to the department
Monitor the implementation of all contracts and advise on action to be taken on the case of breach or non-compliant
Ensure efficient management and control of resources and budget in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation
Engage Risk and Legal department to determine the updated organisational legislation and ensure adherence to delegation of authority as approved by the city
Advice and guide the Roads and Transport Department of the City on compliance with the National Land Transport Act, in particular negotiated agreement with relevant Transport Stakeholders for Bus Rapid Transport.
Ensure efficient adherence and compliance with contract management prescripts as stipulated on the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Municipal Systems Act and other relevant contract management policies and legislation

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.

I confirm that all information, including Personal
Information, supplied to the CoE is accurate and
current and agree to correct and update such
information when necessary.
By submitting any Personal Information to the CoE in
any form I acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an
indefinite unconditional, specific and voluntary
consent to the processing of such Personal Information
in the following manner by the CoE and/or third
parties:
Personal Information may be shared by the CoE
with
Verification Information Suppliers for
verification or
other legitimate purposes;
Personal Information may be stored indefinitely
by
the CoE and/or the Verification Information
Suppliers.
I note that if the CoE has utilised the Personal
Information contrary to the Privacy and Data Protection
Conditions, I shall first resolve any concerns with the
CoE. If I am not satisfied with such process, I have
the right to lodge a complaint with the Information
Regulator.
I acknowledge that I may withdraw any consent provided
in terms of this Agreement and if so Personal
Information will only be processed if permitted under
the Privacy and Data Protection Conditions.
A copy of Personal Information kept by the CoE will be
furnished to me upon request in terms of the provisions
of POPI Act.
I unconditionally agree to indemnify the CoE and/or the
Verification Information Suppliers against any
liability that may result from the processing of
Personal Information. This includes unintentional
disclosures of such Personal Information to - or access
by unauthorized persons, and/or any reliance which may
inadvertently be placed on inaccurate Personal
Information provided to the CoE by myself and/or any
third parties.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand this
agreement and accept the conditions therein.
