Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Strategy/Policy /Planning or relevant equivalent qualification
  • 3 years' experience in a similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, manage, monitor and review overall strategy and policy alignment activities ensuring alignment with national, provincial and the City's strategies
  • Develop, implement and support a strategic operational context to drive the Strategy and Policy branch in the Department
  • Develop the Human Settlement long term strategy aligned to National, Provincial and Municipal Prescripts
  • Develop the Human Settlement IDP Charter, Divisional Business Plan and SDBIP targets
  • Contribute to the management and ensure accountability for delivery of contracted work output within parameters
  • Establish and manage strategic internal and external relationships
  • Manage the development and implementation of operational plans to meet established annual objectives
  • Assist in developing and managing a high performance culture within area of accountability.
  • Manage and set quality standards to ensure continuous improvement of the quality and output of the Section
