Job Purpose:

To execute the functions of the Property Management and Portfolio Advisory Division of the department in the relevant Customer Care Area.

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Real Estate / Public Administration
  • 4 years’ relevant experience

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute of all the property related matters to ensure effective property management.
  • Receive a request from internal departments or external parties to negotiate a required servitude.
  • Refer to servitude diagram to the property valuer to determine the compensation amount and identify the registered owner.
  • Determine the compensation amount and identify the registered owner in case of internal request.
  • Prepare an advert for the permanent closure and place it in the provincial gazette and local newspapers circulating in the area.
  • To ensure compliance with conditions of permanent closures of roads and parks.
  • Inspect properties on lease and sale agreements and supply information to the Senior Property Officer for reports regarding progress on property related matters quarterly.
  • Conduct site inspection of the stands/land owned by the council managed by the Development Planning and Real Estate department.
  • Update information on property management system.
  • Liaise with the billing and collections team regarding tenant accounts, new applications and or general finance related queries.
  • To provide effective customer service to the public and build relationship with the stakeholders.
