Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Built Environment as per National Building Regulations or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
3 - 5 years' experience in built environment
Core Responsibilities:
Control the building process by evaluating building plans, conducting building inspections and effecting law enforcement in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act103 of 1977) as amended and other related legislation
Improve quality of life and place of the community and boost investor confidence through efficient and effective built environment management
Grant or refuse permissions to use buildings before Certificates of Occupancy have been issued in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, the determining of the periods applicable for such permissions and the determining of conditions applicable for such permission
Manage law enforcement by ensuring that all contravention investigations are processed within reasonable timeframes and that all contravention notices are issued within reasonable time frames and followed up by the expiry date as prescribed by the Act
Manage office registry and archival function. Ensure that the security of applications for approval as well as approved files are sufficiently addressed, so as to comply with approved Council Risk Management Policy. Put in place procedures and systems to ensure that the applicable requirements of the Archives Act are met
Ensure effective implementation of Council resolutions with regard to risk
Monitor and enforce effective financial control, corporate governance and financial compliance in ensuring efficient resource management
Drive an aligned customer service excellence culture, which enables rewarding relationships and allows others to provide exceptional customer service

Information, supplied to the CoE is accurate and
current and agree to correct and update such
information when necessary.
By submitting any Personal Information to the CoE in
any form I acknowledge that such conduct constitutes an
indefinite unconditional, specific and voluntary
consent to the processing of such Personal Information
in the following manner by the CoE and/or third
parties:
Personal Information may be shared by the CoE
with
Verification Information Suppliers for
verification or
other legitimate purposes;
Personal Information may be stored indefinitely
by
the CoE and/or the Verification Information
Suppliers.
I note that if the CoE has utilised the Personal
Information contrary to the Privacy and Data Protection
Conditions, I shall first resolve any concerns with the
CoE. If I am not satisfied with such process, I have
the right to lodge a complaint with the Information
Regulator.
I acknowledge that I may withdraw any consent provided
in terms of this Agreement and if so Personal
Information will only be processed if permitted under
the Privacy and Data Protection Conditions.
A copy of Personal Information kept by the CoE will be
furnished to me upon request in terms of the provisions
of POPI Act.
I unconditionally agree to indemnify the CoE and/or the
Verification Information Suppliers against any
liability that may result from the processing of
Personal Information. This includes unintentional
disclosures of such Personal Information to - or access
by unauthorized persons, and/or any reliance which may
inadvertently be placed on inaccurate Personal
Information provided to the CoE by myself and/or any
third parties.

agreement and accept the conditions therein.
