Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • Registered as Pr.QS with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) or eligibility to register
  • 5 years' experience in a quantity surveying environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice in the estimation and monitoring of project costs from project initiation to completion according to set standards, procedures and policy
  • Develop, input and advice on strategic capability and leadership to produce detailed plans and specifications by applying various standards specifications and generally accepted quantity surveying standards to enable construction implementation and service delivery
  • Perform operational processes to ensure adherence to the construction programme and to ensure that all work claimed for has been completed in terms of the contract document and that claim procedures are in accordance with accepted norms and standards
  • Perform governance and risk management functions to ensure promotion of good governance, compliance with applicable legislative and policy prescripts and effective and efficient management of risks by the Department
  • Implement financial processes to contribute towards prudent financial management by the Department at large and thereby ensure compliance with financial controls as contemplated in the MFMA
  • Improve customer services orientation to ensure people-centered and efficient service delivery subscribes to the Batho Pele principles.
