Minimum Requirements:

· Grade 12 or NTC III

· Trade Test (Automotive Mechanic)

· Advanced Certificate in Road Transport

· Code EC drivers' licence with PrDP

· 5 years' experience

Core Responsibilities:

· Manage the vehicle fleet in the region by ensuring compliance with relevant legislations for vehicles administration processes

· Ensure an effective maintenance programme by compiling and providing a maintenance schedule to ensure adequate availability of vehicles to departments for effective and efficient service delivery

· Ensure the registration of new vehicles when purchased, de-registration of vehicles damaged beyond repair, accident damaged, stolen or hijacked

· Arrange change of ownership for redundant or written off vehicles

· Ensure the renewal of vehicle licences, and change of address when vehicle is transferred to other regions

· Supervise the scheduling of service and maintenance of vehicles and roadworthy tests

· Visit the licence department, SAPS, or Court appearances to resolve vehicle related matters and clearances

· Responsible for management of contracts (Tracking system, leases etc)

· Ensure departments avail vehicles fitted with hydraulic mounted equipment for compulsory annual load tests as required

· Compile reports from the fleet management system, conduct frequent inspections and audits at various workshops in the region for proper asset control, submit vehicle reports for approval and submissions to Council

· Arrange public auction for disposal of redundant or written off vehicles after all legal notices were served and advertised
