Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Financial Management / NQF Level 6
  • 2 years' experience in transport environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, implement and report on the Automated Fare Collection system from the transport management centre.
  • Provide support to the Fare Analysist to measure revenues against operation expenditure i.e. assessing vendors' reports, contract payment obligations, adjust formulas and daily reports.
  • Manage and correctly capture accounting information while ensuring integration of revenue & expenditure into general ledger.
  • Run year end and month end programmes and check BRT system bank reconciliations.
  • Plan, organise and coordinate workflow and manage activities of the supply chain management division.
  • Ensure effective monitoring of fare revenue collection processes and enforce compliance with relevant internal controls, policies and audit recommendations.
  • Develop and implement procedures to prevent leakages and fare evasion across all BRT stations and onboards services.
  • Manage the interface and integration between AFC systems and third-party financial platforms i.e. banks, mobile payments etc
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of fare collection personnel including deployments to stations and depots to optimise revenue collection and minimise fraud.
  • Analyse data to support operational decisions and policy deployment to improve financial planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure that customer complaints related to fare collection are promptly investigated and resolved in collaboration with customer care and operation teams.
  • Liaise with technology vendors, system integrators and finance department to maintain functionality, reliability and accuracy of fare collection systems.
  • Participate in internal and external audits of fare collection systems and implement corrective actions where required
  • Ensure that staff understands their performance management obligations, conduct appraisals and training in conjunction with the Human Resources department.
  • Compile AFC reports to ensure timely reporting of AFC information and identification of concerns.
